Summer 2023 was one for the record books as a long, hot and parched season. Normally, afternoon storms keep the grass green and growing quickly. However, it has been brown and short this year with the assistance of sunshine and high pressure.
Fortunately, the rain has made its appearance, and the wet conditions may be more frequent due to an overdue change in the weather pattern. Here is the wet scene.
The sun had been out almost every day in the past few weeks across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Not that evening as you see in this video. Heavy rain and some lightning flashes greet among the white lights of my apartment complex. Temperatures were cool enough to wear a jacket to stay warm.

The week of April 11, 2021 was a wet one! Over eight inches (200 mm) of rain fell at my workplace in Ocean Springs, MS within a 72-hour period. Also, over a foot (300 mm) of rain fell in Gulfport, MS. This was the view as the weekend began at my apartment. One more thing: I filmed and uploaded this video in 4K UHD for the first time in my channel’s history.

What should come after Independence Day fireworks? For me, the answer is showers and thunderstorms, especially if it was shot in broad daylight and filmed at nearly the exact same location as the holiday video. It washes the celebrations away. Please, take in the scenes of a bad beach day.
I wanted just heavy rainfall, but I didn’t knew there were plenty of lightning strikes as well. Loud claps of thunder were included. Did I captured my first lightning strike as a Mississippi Gulf Coast resident? Regardless, this is an entertaining video.
This is natural fireworks part 2. These storms produced enough heavy rainfall to issue flash flood warnings. The rain picks up in intensity at 3 minutes into the film if you really want to listen to the heavy rain. Enjoy the video!
We are going from human fireworks to natural fireworks. Severe thunderstorms slammed Monticello, Indiana on the evening of July 13. Enjoy the occasional strong, wind gusts and heavy rain.
On the evening of April 21, strong thunderstorms capable of producing 40 mph wind gusts and dime sized hail stroke Monticello, Indiana. This was the scene at my house.
On the evening of September 18, a squall line generated severe wind reports to the Monticello, Indiana area. The video starts with a tornado warning cut in. Then, the storms passed my house. The majority of the video was mainly audio only because of the darkness outside, and there was a power outage.

During the evening of June 7, 2015, severe storms rolled by the Monticello, Indiana area dropping heavy rainfall. Some severe wind gusts were reported. In this video, there were a few lightning flashes that deserved attention. There may have been a lightning strike or two.
